वैशम्पायन उवाच इत्युक्त: स तदा राज्ञा क्षमं बुद्धिमता हितम् । अनुज्ञाप्य स राजानमहल्यां प्रतिजग्मिवान्,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! इस प्रकार बुद्धिमान् राजा सौदासके मुखसे उचित और हितकी बात सुनकर उनकी आज्ञा ले उत्तंक मुनि अहल्याके पास चल दिये
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: ity uktaḥ sa tadā rājñā kṣamaṁ buddhimatā hitam | anujñāpya sa rājānam ahalyāṁ pratijagmivān ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Having thus been addressed, and having heard from the wise king words that were fitting and beneficial, the sage (Uttaṅka) took the king’s leave and then set out again toward Ahalyā. The passage underscores the ethic of receiving sound counsel with respect and acting only after proper permission is granted.
