Adhyāya 51: Kṛṣṇa’s Leave-Taking and Departure for Dvārakā (द्वारकागमनानुमति)

तपसश्चानुपूव्येंण फलमूलाशिनस्तथा । त्रैलोक्यं तपसा सिद्धा: पश्यन्तीह समाहिता:,फल-मूलका भोजन करनेवाले सिद्ध महात्मा यहाँ तपस्याके प्रभावसे ही चित्तको एकाग्र करके तीनों लोकोंकी बातोंको क्रमश: प्रत्यक्ष अनुभव करते हैं

tapasas cānupūrvyena phalamūlāśinas tathā | trailokyaṃ tapasā siddhāḥ paśyantīha samāhitāḥ ||

Vāyu said: “Likewise, by the gradual discipline of austerity, and by living on fruits and roots, accomplished sages—made perfect through tapas—remain here with concentrated minds and directly perceive, in due order, the realities of all the three worlds. Thus, inner purification and steady self-restraint become the means to higher knowledge, not mere curiosity or power.”
