Brahmopadeśa on Saṃnyāsa, Tapas, and Jñāna (ब्रह्मोपदेशः—संन्यासतपोज्ञानविमर्शः)

यो न कामयते किंचिन्न किंचिदवमन्यते । इहलोकस्थ एवैष ब्रह्म भूयाय कल्पते,जो किसी वस्तुकी कामना तथा किसीकी अवहेलना नहीं करता, वह इस लोकमें रहकर भी ब्रह्मस्वरूप होनेमें समर्थ हो जाता है

yo na kāmayate kiñcin na kiñcid avamanyate | ihalokastha evaiṣa brahma bhūyāya kalpate ||

Vāyu said: One who neither hankers after anything nor despises anything becomes fit for Brahmanhood; even while living in this very world, such a person is capable of abiding as Brahman—free from craving and contempt, steady in equal regard.

Freedom from two opposite reactions—craving (kāma) and contempt (avamāna/avamāna-buddhi)—creates inner equality. Such equanimity makes a person ‘fit for Brahman,’ meaning capable of realizing or abiding in the highest spiritual state even without withdrawing from worldly life.

In this passage, Vāyudeva is instructing the listener on a liberating ethical discipline: remain in the world (ihaloka) yet do not chase objects of desire and do not look down upon anything. This balanced attitude is presented as the qualification for attaining Brahmanhood.
