Thus ends the thirty-eighth chapter, which treats the dialogue between teacher and disciple, within the Anugītā section contained in the Aśvamedhika Parva of the revered Mahābhārata. The closing colophon signals the completion of this instructional exchange and frames it as a didactic unit meant to guide conduct and understanding.
वायुदेव उवाच
This line is a colophon rather than a doctrinal verse: it emphasizes that the preceding material is framed as a guru–śiṣya (teacher–disciple) dialogue within the Anugītā, underscoring the Mahābhārata’s ethical instruction being transmitted through disciplined learning and inquiry.
The text formally closes a chapter, stating that the thirty-eighth chapter on the teacher–disciple dialogue in the Anugītā section (within the Aśvamedhika Parva) has been completed; it functions as an editorial/narrative marker of completion.
