The mighty one swiftly struck down the senses with a single arrow—namely, the discipline of yoga. Entering into the Self through yogic absorption, he attained the supreme perfection, liberation. The verse frames inner conquest as the highest victory: mastery over the senses through concentrated meditation culminates in mokṣa rather than worldly triumph.
समुद्र उवाच
True heroism is inner victory: by one-pointed yoga (meditative discipline), the practitioner subdues the senses and realizes the Self, culminating in the highest siddhi—mokṣa.
A powerful figure is described metaphorically as using a single ‘arrow’—yoga—to defeat the senses. Through meditative absorption he ‘enters’ the Self and attains the supreme spiritual goal.
