अध्वर्यु–यति संवादः

Adhvaryu–Yati Dialogue on Svabhāva, Ahiṃsā, and Mokṣa

प्रोक्ष्यमाणं पशुं दृष्टवा यज्ञकर्मण्यथाब्रवीत्‌ । यतिरध्वर्युमासीनो हिंसेयमिति कुत्सयन्‌,किसी यज्ञ-कर्ममें पशुका प्रोक्षण होता देख वहीं बैठे हुए एक यतिने अध्वर्युसे उसकी निन्दा करते हुए कहा--'यह हिंसा है (अत: इससे पाप होगा)'

prokṣyamāṇaṃ paśuṃ dṛṣṭvā yajñakarmaṇy athābravīt | yatir adhvaryum āsīno hiṃseyam iti kutsayan ||

Seeing an animal being sprinkled with consecrated water as part of a sacrificial rite, a renunciant who was seated there spoke to the officiating priest in condemnation: “This is violence; it will bring sin.”
