“In the same way, you should go and meet those people. After hearing their consent, it will be possible to deliberate and decide accordingly.” The Brahmin stresses that an ethically sound decision requires first consulting those connected with the animal and acting only after their approval is known.

Educational Q&A

A decision becomes dharmically valid when it is preceded by consultation and the consent of those who are directly connected or affected; only after hearing their approval should one proceed to deliberate and act.

A Brahmin advises the listener to first meet the relevant people (contextually, the animal’s relations/owners or those concerned) and, after hearing their consent, to undertake further consideration and decide accordingly.
