Duḥṣantasya Vana-praveśaḥ

King Duḥṣanta’s Entry into the Forest Hunt

Aṇīmāṇḍavya ity evaṁ vikhyātaḥ sa mahāyaśāḥ | sa dharmam āhūya purā maharṣir idam uktavān |

“He was renowned by the name Aṇīmāṇḍavya, a great and illustrious sage. In ancient times, that seer summoned Dharma and spoke these words.” (This introduces the ethical episode in which the blameless sage—impaled due to suspicion of theft—confronts Dharma about justice, culpability, and the proportionality of punishment.)
