नानाराज्येषु च सुतान् स सम्राडभ्यषेचयत् । महारथो मागधानां विश्रुतो यो बृहद्रथ:,सम्राट् वसुने विभिन्न राज्योंपर अपने पुत्रोंको अभिषिक्त कर दिया। उनमें महारथी बृहद्रथ मगध देशका विख्यात राजा हुआ
nānārājyeṣu ca sutān sa samrāḍ abhiṣecayat | mahāratho māgadhānāṃ viśruto yo bṛhadrathaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana said: That sovereign consecrated his sons as rulers in various kingdoms. Among them, the famed Bṛhadratha became the celebrated great chariot-warrior king of the Magadhas—an instance of orderly succession and the king’s duty to establish stable governance through rightful installation of heirs.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A ruler’s rajadharma includes ensuring continuity and stability of the realm by properly installing qualified heirs; legitimate consecration (abhiṣeka) supports social order and reduces conflict over succession.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that an emperor consecrated his sons as rulers across different kingdoms; among them, Bṛhadratha is identified as the renowned king and great warrior associated with Magadha.
