Vaiśampāyana said: Akrūra and Sāraṇa, and also Gada, Baśru and Vidūratha; Niśaṭha and Cārudeṣṇa, and Pṛthu and Vipṛthu as well—these prominent Yādavas (together with others not named) enhanced the splendor of the festivities on Mount Raivataka, each surrounded by women and by Gandharvas. The scene underscores worldly prosperity and social celebration, while also hinting at the vast network of alliances and attachments that accompany royal power.

Educational Q&A

The verse primarily catalogs notable Yādavas at a grand celebration, implicitly illustrating how prosperity, status, and enjoyment gather many around a ruling clan—yet such splendor also reflects the web of attachments and alliances that can later shape ethical choices and conflicts.

Vaiśampāyana lists prominent Yādava figures present at festivities on Mount Raivataka. They are depicted as enhancing the event’s magnificence, accompanied by women and Gandharvas, with the suggestion that many other Yādavas were present beyond those explicitly named.
