वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse links true eminence to ethical foundations: victory and high status are portrayed as meaningful when grounded in satya (truthfulness) and dharma (righteous duty). Wisdom and moral commitment are presented as the proper supports of power and prosperity.
Vaiśampāyana describes the Pāṇḍavas as having overcome their enemies and reached a position of preeminence; established in truth and dharma, they live there in satisfaction and stability after their successes.
