Vaiśampāyana said: When the wedding rites were completed, King Drupada presented the great chariot-warriors—the Pāṇḍavas—with abundant wealth and many kinds of excellent gifts as bridal offerings. He granted a hundred chariots, adorned with splendid garlands of fine gold and fitted with golden harness-ornaments, each chariot yoked with four horses—an act reflecting royal generosity and the social duty of honoring a marriage alliance.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dāna (generous giving) as a royal and social duty: after a marriage alliance, a king honors the bond through fitting gifts, reflecting responsibility, gratitude, and the maintenance of righteous social order (dharma).

After the wedding is completed, Drupada formally bestows bridal gifts upon the Pāṇḍavas—substantial wealth and, specifically, one hundred richly ornamented chariots, each drawn by four horses.
