वैशमग्पायन उवाच हिडिम्बा तु ततः कुन्तीमभिवाद्य कृताञ्जलि: । युधिष्टिरं तु कौन्तेयमिदं वचनमत्रवीत्‌,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! तदनन्तर हिडिम्बाने हाथ जोड़कर कुन्तीदेवी तथा उनके पुत्र युधिष्ठिरको प्रणाम करके इस प्रकार कहा--

vaiśampāyana uvāca | hiḍimbā tu tataḥ kuntīm abhivādya kṛtāñjaliḥ | yudhiṣṭhiraṃ tu kaunteyam idaṃ vacanam abravīt |

Vaiśampāyana said: Then Hiḍimbā, with palms joined in reverence, bowed to Kuntī and addressed Yudhiṣṭhira, the son of Kuntī, speaking these words. The scene underscores proper conduct—respectful salutation and humble speech—before one makes a request or offers counsel to elders and the righteous.
