Then the Pāñcāla warrior quickly harassed Arjuna with hundreds of arrows. But Arjuna, the great chariot-fighter, though covered by a rain of shafts, shook and set right the bowstring and began to discharge arrows with great speed. Cutting down Satyajit’s bow, he then pressed forward and closed in upon King Drupada. The episode underscores the kṣatriya ethic of steadfastness under assault and the disciplined control of skill even amid overwhelming force.

Steadfastness and disciplined skill under pressure: even when overwhelmed by a barrage, a kṣatriya is expected to maintain composure, restore readiness (setting the bowstring), and respond with controlled, effective action rather than panic.
Satyajit of Pāñcāla strikes Arjuna with hundreds of arrows. Arjuna, though covered by the arrow-rain, resets his bowstring, counters with rapid fire, cuts Satyajit’s bow, and then advances to close in on King Drupada.
