आदि पर्व (अध्याय १२७) — रङ्गे कर्णस्य अवमानः, दुर्योधनस्य प्रतिपक्ष-निवृत्तिः, मैत्री-स्थापनम् / Ādi Parva (Chapter 127) — Karṇa’s Public Humiliation, Duryodhana’s Intervention, and the Formation of Alliance

tatastayoḥ śarīre dve dṛṣṭvā mohavaśaṃ gatā | hā hā putreti kausalyā papāta sahasā bhuvi ||

Then, on seeing the two bodies, Kausalyā—overpowered by delusion and grief—cried out, “Alas, my son! Alas, my son!” and suddenly collapsed to the ground. The scene underscores how intense attachment and bereavement can overwhelm discernment, even in the midst of royal duty and public calamity.
