Sukta 59
शाप-मोचनम्। यो नः शपादशपतः शपतो यश्च नः शपात्। वृक्ष इव विद्युता हत आ मूलादनु शुष्यतु
śāpa-mocánam | yó naḥ śápād áśapataḥ śápato yáś ca naḥ śápāt | vṛ́kṣa iva vidyútā hatá ā mū́lād ánu śuṣyatu
Release from curse. Whoso, by cursing, hath cursed us—curser, or he who would undo the curse—whosoever by curse (hath touched) us: like a tree smitten by lightning, let him wither, down from the root, utterly away.
Rishi: Unspecified here (to be resolved via Anukramaṇī for AVŚ 7.59).
Devata: Śāpa (curse) as adversarial force; implicit divine sanction via ‘vidyut’ imagery.
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh-like (to be verified).
