ā́yuṣmatām āyuṣkṛ́tāṃ prāṇéna jīva má mṛthāḥ | vy àháṃ sárveṇa pā́pmanā ví yákṣmeṇa samā́yuṣā ||
With the breath of life, live thou—die not. I drive away, with all malignity, the wasting sickness, and (set thee) in possession of a full term of life, among the long-lived, among the life-establishers.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (often transmitted under Atharvan/Angiras lineages for bhaiṣajya hymns; specific r̥ṣi attribution varies by anukramaṇī).
Devata: Prāṇa and Āyus (functional deities), with yakṣma as the adversarial disease-agent.
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh (predominant healing-meter; cadence supports imperative commands).
{"primary_rasa":"shanta","secondary_rasa":"vira","emotional_arc":"Urgent life-command → forceful expulsion of disease → peaceful settling into long life.","listener_experience":"Reassurance and steadiness; a felt ‘return’ of breath and hope.","intensity":7}
