Sukta 5
यदग्ने अद्य मिथुना शपातो यद् वाचस्तृष्टं जनयन्त रेभाः । मन्योर्मनसः शरव्या३ जायते या तया विध्य हृदये यातुधानान्
yád agne adyá mithunā́ śápāto yád vā́cas tṛṣṭáṃ janáyanta rebhā́ḥ | manyór mánasaḥ śarávyā̀ jā́yate yā́ táyā vidhya hṛ́daye yātudhā́nān ||
What, O Agni, today from mutual cursing, what the revilers beget—speech sharpened to a point—; the arrow that is born of wrath, of the mind: with that, pierce the Yātudhānas in the heart.
Rishi: Atharvanic/Angirasic rakṣoghna tradition (anukramaṇī attribution varies).
Devata: Agni (as slayer and purifier); implicit weapon-force (śarávyā).
Chandas: Triṣṭubh-like cadence (Atharvanic mixed meter; not strictly regular)
{"primary_rasa":"raudra","secondary_rasa":"vira","emotional_arc":"From diagnosing hostile speech → forging the wrath-arrow → decisive heart-strike against demons.","listener_experience":"A fierce clarity and protective anger transmuted into focused action; cathartic boundary-making.","intensity":8}
