रुक्मिणी-हरणम्, विरोधि-राजगणः, रुक्मी-प्रतिज्ञा-पराजयः, प्रद्युम्न-जन्म
तस्यां जज्ञे ऽथ प्रद्युम्नो मदनांशः स वीर्यवान् जहार शम्बरो यं वै यो जघान च शम्बरम्
tasyāṃ jajñe 'tha pradyumno madanāṃśaḥ sa vīryavān jahāra śambaro yaṃ vai yo jaghāna ca śambaram
Darinya lahirlah Pradyumna—perkasa, memancarkan bagian dari Kāma. Anak yang dirampas Śambara itu kelak justru menjadi pembunuh Śambara.
Sage Parāśara (narrating to Maitreya)
It identifies Pradyumna as embodying an aspect of Kāma (Madana), linking his birth to the restoration of love/power that supports dharma, while still placing that power under the sovereignty of the Supreme (Vishnu through Krishna).
Parāśara presents it as a dharmic reversal: the child is abducted by an asura, yet the same person later becomes the agent of that asura’s destruction, showing providential order within the lineage of Krishna.
Even when the verse focuses on Pradyumna and Śambara, the underlying message is that divine sovereignty safeguards the Lord’s lineage and ensures adharma is ultimately defeated.
