FAQs

Purity is treated as practical, material-sensitive discipline: different substances require different remedies. The ethical thrust is attentiveness and care in maintaining cleanliness for ritual fitness and social propriety.

This is not one of the five hallmark topics (sarga, pratisarga, vaṃśa, manvantara, vaṃśānucarita). It belongs to ancillary dharma/ācāra instruction commonly embedded in Purāṇas.

Warm water, sesame paste, and ash symbolize graded purifiers: heat and friction remove clinging impurities; ash represents the drying/neutralizing principle often used in śauca contexts.
