उत्क्षिप्य वायुमाकाशं शून्यं कृत्वा निरात्मकम् । शून्यभावेन युञ्जीयाद्रेचकस्येति लक्षणम् ॥१२॥

Padapatha (Word Split)

उत्क्षिप्य । वायुम् । आकाशम् । शून्यम् । कृत्वा । निरात्मकम् । शून्य-भावेन । युञ्जीयात् । रेचकस्य । इति । लक्षणम् ॥

IAST Transliteration

utkṣipya vāyum ākāśaṃ śūnyaṃ kṛtvā nirātmakam | śūnya-bhāvena yuñjīyād recakasye ti lakṣaṇam ||12||

Translation

Setelah menghembuskan udara, jadikan ruang (ākāśa) kosong dan tanpa rasa-aku; satukan batin dengan sikap kehampaan—itulah ciri recaka (hembusan keluar).

Academic Translation

Having expelled the air, making the space empty and without (sense of) self, one should apply (the mind) with the notion of emptiness—this is the characteristic of exhalation (recaka).
