गौतमविघ्नप्रकरणम्
Episode of Obstacles to Gautama; Gaṇeśa’s Appearing Through Misguided Worship
इत्युक्त्वा सर्षिवर्यश्च कृत्वा प्रक्रमणं गिरेः । पूजयामास निर्माय पार्थिवान्मुनिसत्तमः

Setelah berkata demikian, resi utama itu bersama para ṛṣi lainnya melakukan pradakṣiṇā mengelilingi gunung dengan hormat. Lalu sang muni terbaik membentuk wujud Pārthiva (tanah liat) dan memuja Dewa Śiva dengan bhakti.

It highlights the Shaiva principle that sincere devotion expressed through humble acts—like parikrama and simple earthen liṅga worship—invites Śiva’s grace, purifying the devotee and orienting the mind toward liberation (mokṣa).
By explicitly mentioning “pārthiva” (earthen) construction and “pūjā,” the verse points to Saguna-upāsanā: approaching the formless Lord through the liṅga as a sacred, accessible support for concentration and devotion.
Perform parikrama (circumambulation) with reverence, then worship a pārtiva-liṅga (clay liṅga) with mantra and offerings—ideally with the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—as a focused bhakti practice.
