Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Emphasizes external śuddhi (riverbank cleansing, ācamana, prokṣaṇa) as removal of mala/impurity that veils the soul—preparatory to unveiling through worship.
Mantra: oṃ (praṇava)
It teaches that outer cleanliness supports inner purity: by washing, performing ācamana, and purifying with Oṁ, the devotee steadies body and mind so worship may be offered to Pati (Shiva) with clarity and reverence.
It outlines preparatory acts before approaching Saguna Shiva in worship (such as Linga-pūjā): purification through water and the Pranava makes the devotee fit to offer upacāras with disciplined attention.
Perform ācamana twice, then purify by sprinkling water while reciting Oṁ (Pranava), and wipe/cleanse the body with a clean cloth—an immediate practical step before mantra-japa or Shiva-pūjā.
