Suta Goswami (narrating the Kailāsa teachings and ritual details to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Mantra: nṛmlaskam … glūm
Role: teaching
It emphasizes that Śiva-upāsanā is not merely external action: correct vidhi joined with prīti (devoted joy) and a sānukūla (benevolent) inner disposition makes worship spiritually effective and purifying on the path to Śiva’s grace.
The verse describes mantra-guided, Guru-led worship—typical of Saguna Śiva devotion—where specific utterances (bīja-like formulas) frame the rite, culminating in complete reverence (samarcayet) to the worshipful form such as the Śiva-liṅga.
It indicates a structured mantra-recitation sequence (specific utterances at the beginning and end) performed under the Guru’s guidance, followed by correct ritual worship; the takeaway is disciplined japa/uccāraṇa plus heartfelt devotion while completing the prescribed Śaiva pūjā.
