Vision of the Pushpaka Aerial Chariot
वसन्तपुष्पोत्करचारुदर्शनंवसन्तमासादपि कान्तदर्शनम्।स पुष्पकं तत्र विमानमुत्तमंददर्श तद्वानरवीरसत्तमः।।।।
vasanta-puṣpa-utkara-cāru-darśanaṃ vasantam āsād api kānta-darśanam |
sa puṣpakaṃ tatra vimānam uttamaṃ dadarśa tad-vānara-vīra-sattamaḥ ||
Di sana, pahlawan utama di antara para vānarā melihat vimāna unggul bernama Puṣpaka—indah laksana timbunan bunga musim semi, bahkan lebih memikat daripada musim semi itu sendiri.
That hero among monkeys, beheld the aerial chariot looking beautiful like a colourful collection of spring blossoms. Its appearance was more pleasant than spring itself.ইত্যার্ষে শ্রীমদ্রামাযণে বাল্মীকীয আদিকাব্যে সুন্দরকাণ্ডে অষ্টমস্সর্গঃ৷৷Thus ends the eighth sarga of Sundarakanda of the holy Ramayana, the first epic composed by sage Valmiki.
The verse reinforces the Ramayana’s teaching that one may witness alluring splendour yet remain committed to duty. Dharma is steadfastness of purpose amid distractions.
At the close of Sarga 8, Hanumān visually identifies the magnificent Puṣpaka within Laṅkā during his search.
Single-pointed devotion to task: Hanumān’s heroic excellence lies in observation serving dharma, not in being captivated by luxury.
