Wahai keturunan Raghu, tersengat oleh pandangan yang dahsyat itu, seluruh anggota tubuh Kāma yang berniat jahat luruh dari badannya sendiri dan hangus musnah.
"O descendant of Raghu, burnt down by his fierce (third) eye, all the limbs of the body of that evil-minded Kama were consumed.
Unrestrained desire (kāma) that violates moral order invites consequences; Dharma is protected when disruptive impulses are checked.
Viśvāmitra continues describing how Kāma was burned by a fierce divine eye, resulting in the destruction of his bodily limbs.
Self-mastery and restraint are implied as superior to uncontrolled desire; the verse warns against durmati (perverse intention).
