जटायुस्संवादः — Encounter with Jaṭāyu and the Genealogy of Beings
Aranyakanda 14
पूर्वकाले महाबाहो ये प्रजापतयोऽभवन्।तान्मे निगदतस्सर्वानादितश्शृणु राघव।।3.14.6।।
pūrvakāle mahābāho ye prajāpātayo ’bhavan |
tān me nigadataḥ sarvān āditaḥ śṛṇu rāghava || 3.14.6 ||
Wahai Rāghava yang berlengan perkasa, dengarkan dari permulaan ketika aku menuturkan kepadamu semua Prajāpati purba yang dahulu pernah ada.
On hearing Rama's words, the bird started narrating the origin of all beings including his own family:
Dharma as faithful transmission of knowledge: tradition is conveyed systematically (“from the beginning”) and respectfully to a worthy listener.
Jatāyu begins a formal genealogical/cosmic introduction, preparing to state the line of Prajāpatis as part of his own lineage account.
Reverent instruction and discipline in speech: Jatāyu frames his narration clearly, showing responsibility in conveying sacred/ancestral knowledge.
