अगस्त्याश्रमप्रवेशः तथा दिव्यायुधप्रदानम्
Entry into Agastya’s Hermitage and the Gift of Divine Weapons
एवमुक्त्वा महाबाहुरगस्त्यं सूर्यवर्चसम्।जग्राह परमप्रीतस्तस्य पादौ परन्तपः।।।।
evam uktvā mahābāhur agastyaṃ sūryavarcasam |
jagrāha paramaprītas tasya pādau parantapaḥ ||
Sesudah berkata demikian, Rāma yang berlengan perkasa—penggentar musuh—dengan sukacita menyentuh dan memegang kedua kaki Agastya yang bercahaya laksana matahari.
Having said so, the mighty-armed Rama, the scorcher of enemies, grasped the feet of Agastya who was shining like the Sun.
Dharma requires honoring elders and spiritual teachers; touching the feet signifies surrender of ego and acknowledgment of higher moral/spiritual attainment.
Rāma physically shows reverence to Agastya upon meeting him at the hermitage.
Rāma’s humility and devotion to dhārmic etiquette toward sages.
