Vāsudeva

FAQs

It states that the act becomes “mahāpuṇya” specifically because it is connected to vāsudevasya kīrtana—glorifying Vāsudeva—presenting devotion as the sanctifying source of merit.

Service rendered to a worthy person (a “mahātmā” king) is praised as genuine merit, especially when motivated or accompanied by devotion and sacred remembrance.

The verse claims that praising/reciting the name and greatness of Vāsudeva generates exceptional religious merit, elevating even practical assistance (upakāra) into a highly sacred act.
