The Account of Mohinī
Mohinī-upākhyāna
Narada (contextual attribution within Narada–Sanatkumara dialogue framework)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti (devotion)
Secondary Rasa: shanta (peace)
It emphasizes that true religious merit lies in inner intention: thoughtful reflection, affectionate giving, and honoring the truly worthy—devotion (prīti) elevates the act beyond mere transaction.
Bhakti is shown as prīti-driven action: one contemplates what pleases the revered recipient and offers it sincerely, treating the worthy as pūjya (reverence-worthy) rather than focusing only on external ritual.
No specific Vedanga (like Vyākaraṇa, Jyotiṣa, or Kalpa) is directly taught here; the practical takeaway is ethical-ritual correctness of intent—dāna and pūjā should be guided by discernment (vimarśa) and sincerity.
