Mohinī-upākhyāna
देवार्थमेषा भववर्द्धनार्थँ नृपोपकाराय च संप्रवृत्ता । न स्वार्थकामा लभतेऽवमानं कथं द्विजातोऽपकृतिं क्षमस्व ॥ ४५ ॥
devārthameṣā bhavavarddhanārthaṃ nṛpopakārāya ca saṃpravṛttā | na svārthakāmā labhate'vamānaṃ kathaṃ dvijāto'pakṛtiṃ kṣamasva || 45 ||
Upaya ini dijalankan demi kepentingan para dewa, demi pertumbuhan kemakmuran, dan demi kesejahteraan raja. Orang yang tidak digerakkan nafsu diri tidak akan menuai kehinaan—maka bagaimana seorang dvija dapat menoleransi pelanggaran terhadap dharma?
