Dharmāṅgada’s Discourse (Dharmāṅgadopadeśa) in the Mohinī Episode
पितुः शतगुणः स्नेहो मातुः पुत्रे प्रवर्तते । स्नेहाधिक्यं तु संप्रेक्ष्य मातरं महतीं विदुः ॥ ७ ॥
pituḥ śataguṇaḥ sneho mātuḥ putre pravartate | snehādhikyaṃ tu saṃprekṣya mātaraṃ mahatīṃ viduḥ || 7 ||
Kasih sayang ibu kepada putranya dikatakan seratus kali melebihi kasih sayang ayah. Melihat kelimpahan cinta ini, para bijak memandang ibu sebagai yang paling mulia untuk dihormati.
