Suta (narrator addressing the assembled Brahmanas)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It teaches that śravaṇa (devout listening) to a pāpanāśana ākhyāna works swiftly—like water for thirst—bringing inner relief and purification from pāpa.
By highlighting hearing sacred narratives as a direct means to quick spiritual satisfaction, it supports bhakti’s core practice of śravaṇa—receiving dharma and remembrance through Purāṇic kathā.
No specific Vedāṅga (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa) is taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is the discipline of śravaṇa—regular, attentive listening to Purāṇic recitation as a dharmic practice.
