The Account of Kāṣṭhīlā (Kāṣṭhīlā-ākhyāna) within the Mohinī Narrative
Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It elevates Hari-kathā to a sacred act where truthfulness is mandatory, warning that lying in such a context incurs the same grave fault as obstructing the narration of Vishnu.
Bhakti here is shown as reverent listening and speaking of Śrī Hari’s glories with sincerity; protecting the continuity and purity of Hari-kathā is itself devotional service.
It emphasizes dharma-based discipline of speech (satya-vacana) as a practical rule for sacred recitation and discourse; this aligns with vaidika standards of correct, truthful utterance in ritualized narration.
