Matsya Purana — Sādhāraṇa Śrāddha: General Ancestral Rite, Shloka 62

ततस्तु वैश्वदेवान्ते सभृत्यसुतबान्धवः भुञ्जीतातिथिसंयुक्तः सर्वं पितृनिषेवितम् //

tatastu vaiśvadevānte sabhṛtyasutabāndhavaḥ bhuñjītātithisaṃyuktaḥ sarvaṃ pitṛniṣevitam //

Kemudian, pada penutup Vaiśvadeva, bersama para pelayan, putra-putra, dan sanak-kerabat, hendaknya ia makan bersama seorang tamu—hanya dari makanan yang terlebih dahulu dipersembahkan bagi pelayanan kepada Pitṛ (leluhur).
