Adhyaya 34 — Madālāsā’s Instruction on Sadācāra (Householder Conduct, Purity, and Daily Rites)
तिष्ठेच्च शासने तेषां श्रेयस्कामो द्विजोत्तमः ।
न च तान् विवदेद्वीमानाक्रुष्टश्चापि तैः सदा ॥
tiṣṭhec ca śāsane teṣāṃ śreyaskāmo dvijottamaḥ |
na ca tān vivaded vīmān ākruṣṭaś cāpi taiḥ sadā ||
Seorang dwija utama yang menghendaki kesejahteraan hendaknya hidup menurut ajaran mereka; jangan berdebat dengan mereka, dan jangan menyimpan rasa kesal, walau ia ditegur oleh mereka.

Welfare (śreyas) is linked to teachability and restraint. Even harsh correction should be met without ego-driven quarrel; this protects both social harmony and one’s spiritual progress.
Normative dharma instruction (ācāra), not within the five lakṣaṇas.
The ‘rebuke’ can be read as the friction of discipline against ego. Not reacting defensively is an inner yajña: offering pride into the fire of discernment.
