Adhyaya 34 — Madālāsā’s Instruction on Sadācāra (Householder Conduct, Purity, and Daily Rites)
स्त्रीजन्मपरिहारार्थं पञ्चमीमपि वर्जयेत् ।
ततः षष्ठ्यां व्रजेन्नात्र्याṃ श्रेष्ठा युगमासु पुत्रक ॥
strījanmaparihārārthaṃ pañcamīm api varjayet / tataḥ ṣaṣṭhyāṃ vrajed rātryāṃ śreṣṭhā yugamāsu putraka
Dengan maksud (sebagaimana disebutkan di sini) untuk menghindari kelahiran anak perempuan, hendaknya malam kelima juga dihindari. Kemudian pada malam keenam hendaknya mendekati; di antara malam-malam bernomor genap, malam-malam itu disebut yang terbaik, wahai anak terkasih.
