Adhyaya 34 — Madālāsā’s Instruction on Sadācāra (Householder Conduct, Purity, and Daily Rites)
तुषाङ्गारास्थिशीर्णानि रज्जुवस्त्रादिकानि च ।
नाधितिष्ठेत्तथा प्राज्ञः पथि चैव तथाऽपि भुवि ॥
tuṣāṅgārāsthiśīrṇāni rajjuvastrādikāni ca |
nādhitiṣṭhettathā prājñaḥ pathi caiva tathā bhuvi ||
Demikian pula orang bijaksana tidak boleh menginjak sekam/jerami, bara yang menyala, tulang-belulang yang berserakan, tali, kain, dan benda sejenis—baik di jalan maupun di tanah.

Dharma includes attentiveness in small acts; carelessness can cause harm, impurity, and disrespect toward what should not be trodden upon.
Ācāra-dharma; not pancalakṣaṇa.
The ‘wise’ person watches each step—symbolically, ethical life is a careful path where negligence leads to subtle downfall.
