तमुदीक्ष्य समायान्तं कौन्तेय: परवीरहा । प्रत्यगृह्नात् प्रह्षशत्मा धाराधरमिवाचल:,शत्रुवीरोंका हनन करनेवाले कुन्तीकुमार धनंजयने भीष्मको आते देख प्रसन्नचित्त होकर उनका सामना किया; ठीक उसी तरह, जैसे पर्वत अविचलभावसे खड़ा हो जल बरसानेवाले मेघका आघात सहन करता है
tam udīkṣya samāyāntaṃ kaunteyaḥ paravīrahā | pratyagṛhṇāt prahṛṣṭātmā dhārādharam ivācalaḥ ||
Waiśampāyana berkata: Melihat Bhīṣma datang mendekat, Arjuna putra Kuntī—pembunuh para pahlawan musuh—maju menyongsongnya dengan hati yang teguh dan bersukacita; ia berdiri laksana gunung tak tergoyahkan yang menahan hantaman awan pembawa hujan.
