Śamī-vṛkṣe śastra-nidhāna and Entry into Virāṭa’s Capital (शमीवृक्षे शस्त्रनिधानम्)
खडगांश्न दीप्तान् दीर्घाश्न॒ कलापांश्व महाधनान् | विपाठान क्षुरधारांश्व धनुर्भिनिदधु: सह
khaḍgāṃś ca dīptān dīrghāṃś ca kalāpāṃś ca mahādhanān | vipāṭān kṣuradhārāṃś ca dhanurbhir nidadhuḥ saha ||
Waiśampāyana berkata: Mereka menaruh bersama-sama dengan busur mereka banyak senjata—pedang yang berkilau, tabung anak panah yang panjang, perlengkapan perang yang besar dan mahal, serta bilah-bilah setajam silet seperti kṣuradhāra dan senjata bernama vipāṭa—lalu menyimpannya dengan cermat sebagai bagian dari persiapan rahasia mereka.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even rightful strength must be governed by discipline: weapons and power are to be held in reserve and employed only in accordance with dharma, not impulse.
The characters are depositing and arranging their weapons—swords, quivers, sharp implements, and bows—indicating careful concealment and readiness during the Virāṭa-period of incognito living.
