Revelation and Identification of the Weapons on the Śamī Tree
The verse emphasizes steadfast resolve in the face of injustice: when righteous indignation is awakened—through sincere praise and persuasive counsel—one should not shrink from necessary action. ‘Sthiro bhava’ highlights inner steadiness as the ethical foundation for undertaking conflict.
In the Virāṭa episode, Draupadī (as Sairandhrī) and an ally’s words stir a warrior’s determination. The speaker declares that, inspired by her hymn and by counsel, he cannot refrain from fighting the Kurus and urges firmness before the impending confrontation.
