Uttara’s Resolve and Draupadī’s Identification of Bṛhannadā as Charioteer
Strength is not merely the ability to defeat an enemy; it is also the capacity to restrain oneself after victory. By releasing Suśarmā, the Pāṇḍavas model kṣatriya ethics—valor governed by dharma, not by vengeance.
After overcoming their opponents, the Pāṇḍavas let Suśarmā go free. The verse describes them as victorious, physically powerful, and disciplined, standing secure and steady like people sheltered in a strong fort.
