Draupadī’s Grief at Seeing the Heroes in Disguise (द्रौपदी-विषादः / वेष-परिभव-वर्णनम्)
यन्मां दासीप्रवादेन प्रातिकामी तदानयत् | सभापरिषदो मध्ये तन््मां दहति भारत,दुर्योधनके सेवकके रूपमें दुःशासन मुझे दासी कहकर जो उस समय कौरवोंके सभाभवनमें जनसमाजके भीतर घसीट ले गया, वह अपमानकी आग मुझे आजतक जला रही है
yan māṃ dāsī-pravādena prātikāmī tadānayat | sabhā-pariṣado madhye tan māṃ dahati bhārata ||
Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Wahai Bhārata, kehinaan itu masih membakar batinku: ketika Prātikāmī, dengan dalih menyebutku ‘pelayan perempuan’, menyeretku ke tengah sidang istana. Duhśāsana, hamba Duryodhana, menyebutku ‘budak’ lalu menarikku masuk ke balairung Kuru di hadapan khalayak—api penghinaan itu hingga kini belum padam di hatiku.”
