yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | sarasy ekena pādena tiṣṭhantam aparājitam | pṛcchāmi ko bhavān devo na me yakṣo mato bhavān ||
Yudhiṣṭhira berkata: “Berdiri di danau ini dengan satu kaki, tak terkalahkan oleh siapa pun—siapakah engkau, wahai yang termulia di antara para dewa? Bagiku engkau bukanlah Yakṣa.”
युधिछ्िर उवाच
The verse highlights discernment and respectful inquiry: Yudhiṣṭhira does not react with fear or aggression but seeks the true identity and nature of the powerful being, modeling dharmic conduct through calm questioning.
At the lake episode (Yakṣa-prashna context), Yudhiṣṭhira encounters a mysterious, invincible figure standing on one foot in the water and asks whether he is a god, stating that he does not appear to be a Yakṣa.
