Guṇa-vibhāga and Prāṇa–Agni–Yoga Upadeśa (गुणविभाग तथा प्राण-अग्नि-योगोपदेश)
समये तं पिता राज्ये बृहदश्वो 5 भ्यषेचयत् । कुवलाश्वं महाराज शूरमुत्तमधार्मिकम्,महाराज! राजा बृहदश्चवने यथासमय अपने उत्तम धर्मात्मा शूरवीर पुत्र कुवलाश्वको राज्यपर अभिषिक्त कर दिया
samaye taṃ pitā rājye bṛhadaśvo 'bhyasecayat | kuvalāśvaṃ mahārāja śūram uttama-dhārmikam ||
Wahai raja agung, pada waktunya sang ayah, Bṛhadaśva, menobatkannya sebagai raja. Ia menempatkan Kuvalāśva—yang gagah berani dan amat teguh dalam dharma—sebagai penguasa.
