अशिष्टा गतमर्यादा लोभेन हृतचेतस: । स्वेषु बन्धुषु मुख्येषु तद्‌ वेत्थ पुरुषर्षभ,पुरुषरत्न! ये अपने ही श्रेष्ठ बन्धुओंके साथ अशिष्टतापूर्ण बर्ताव करते हैं। लोभने इनके हृदय-को ऐसा वशीभूत कर लिया है कि इन्होंने धर्मकी मर्यादा तोड़ दी है। इस बातको आप अच्छी तरह जानते हैं

aśiṣṭā gatamaryādā lobhena hṛtacetasaḥ | sveṣu bandhuṣu mukhyeṣu tad vettha puruṣarṣabha ||

Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Mereka telah menjadi tak beradab dan melampaui batas tata susila; keserakahan telah merampas kejernihan budi mereka. Bahkan terhadap sanak-keluarga mereka yang utama pun mereka berlaku tidak patut—ini engkau ketahui benar, wahai yang terbaik di antara manusia.”
