Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 71 — Kṣatra-dharma Counsel, Public Legitimacy, and Mobilization
अयं स काल: सम्प्राप्तो मित्राणां मित्रवत्सल | न च त्वदन्यं पश्यामि यो न आपत्सु तारयेत्
ayaṃ sa kālaḥ samprāpto mitrāṇāṃ mitravatsala | na ca tvadanyaṃ paśyāmi yo na āpatsu tārayet ||
“Wahai Kṛṣṇa, yang selalu mengasihi sahabat-sahabatmu, saat yang menentukan untuk menolong sekutu kini telah tiba. Selain engkau, aku tak melihat siapa pun yang dapat menyelamatkan kami dari malapetaka ini.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
In times of impending disaster, dharmic leadership expresses itself as steadfast protection of allies; the verse highlights reliance on a proven protector whose loyalty to friends is ethically grounded and action-oriented.
At a tense juncture in Udyoga Parva, the speaker points to the arrival of the crucial moment to help one’s friends and declares that only Kṛṣṇa is capable of delivering them from the looming crisis.
