Sainyasaṅgraha and Bhāga-Vyavasthā (Forces Assembled and Rival Allocations) | सैन्यसंग्रह-भागव्यवस्था

धर्मात्मा कुन्तीकुमार युधिष्ठिर जब इस प्रकार कह रहे थे

dhṛṣṭadyumna uvāca—idaṃ māṃ vaco gatasādhvasam | (sūta! tatra duryodhanasya ye yoddhāḥ, taiḥ sarvaiḥ deśavāsibhiḥ, bāhlīkādyaiḥ pratīpavaṃśyaiḥ kauravaiḥ, śaradvataputreṇa kṛpācāryeṇa, sūtaputreṇa karṇena, droṇācāryeṇa aśvatthāmnā ca, tathā jayadrathena duḥśāsanena vikarṇena rājñā duryodhanena bhīṣmeṇa ca—śīghraṃ gatvā mama sandesaṃ vada; adyaiva yāhi, mā vilambaḥ) | sandesaḥ—sādhunaivābhyupeyo mā vo vadhīd arjuno devaguptaḥ | rājyaṃ daddhvaṃ dharmarājasya tūṛṇaṃ yācadhvaṃ vai pāṇḍavaṃ lokavīram ||

Ketika Yudhiṣṭhira, putra Kuntī yang berhati dharma, berkata demikian, Dhṛṣṭadyumna menegurku dengan keberanian yang mendesak: “Wahai sais, pergilah segera dan sampaikan pesanku—di hadapan semua kesatria Duryodhana, beserta sekutu dan rakyat negeri-negeri mereka; di hadapan para Kaurava dari garis Pratīpa seperti Bāhlīka; di hadapan Kṛpa putra Śaradvat; di hadapan Karṇa putra sais kereta; di hadapan Droṇa dan Aśvatthāman; dan juga di hadapan Jayadratha, Duḥśāsana, Vikarṇa, Raja Duryodhana, serta Bhīṣma. Pergilah sekarang—jangan menunda. Inilah pesannya: ‘Wahai Kaurava! Raja Yudhiṣṭhira dapat dimenangkan hanya dengan laku terhormat, bukan dengan perang. Jangan biarkan perkara sampai pada saat Arjuna—yang dilindungi para dewa—membinasakan kalian. Segera kembalikan kerajaan kepada Dharmarāja Yudhiṣṭhira, dan mohonkan ampun kepada pahlawan Pāṇḍava, Arjuna, yang termasyhur di dunia.’”
