अध्याय ४६ — सभाप्रवेशः तथा सञ्जयस्य दूतवृत्तान्तः
Entry into the Royal Assembly and Sañjaya’s Envoy Report
तस्यां रजन्यां व्युष्टायां राजान: सर्व एव ते । सभामाविविशुर्द्वश: सूतस्योपदिदृक्षया,वह रात बीतनेपर जब प्रभातकाल आया, तब सब राजालोग सूतपुत्र संजयको देखनेके लिये बड़े हर्षके साथ सभामें आये
tasyāṁ rajanyāṁ vyuṣṭāyāṁ rājānaḥ sarva eva te | sabhām āvivśur dvaśaḥ sūtasya upadidṛkṣayā ||
Ketika malam itu berlalu dan fajar menyingsing, semua raja itu memasuki balairung sidang dengan tergesa penuh gairah, ingin melihat Sañjaya, putra sais kereta.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Before decisive action—especially when war and dharma are at stake—rulers should seek trustworthy information and direct testimony. The verse highlights the ethical value of informed deliberation rather than impulsive judgment.
After the night ends and morning comes, the assembled kings hurry into the royal hall to see Sañjaya, the charioteer’s son, presumably to hear or verify important news relevant to the unfolding political crisis.
