Udyoga-parva 35
बुद्धया भयं प्रणुदति तपसा विन्दते महत् | गुरुशुश्रूषया ज्ञानं शान्तिं योगेन विन्दति
buddhyā bhayaṁ praṇudati tapasā vindate mahat | guruśuśrūṣayā jñānaṁ śāntiṁ yogena vindati ||
Manusia mengusir rasa takut dengan kejernihan budi; dengan tapa ia meraih kedudukan yang luhur; dengan berbakti melayani guru ia memperoleh pengetahuan sejati; dan dengan yoga yang tertib ia menemukan kedamaian batin.
विदुर उवाच
Fear is overcome by sound discernment; higher attainment comes from disciplined austerity; knowledge arises through devoted service to a worthy teacher; and lasting peace is gained through yoga—systematic inner discipline.
